Creation and maintenance of well-balanced classrooms is a prime consideration during the enrollment process at Little Oak. Student-to-teacher and student-to-classroom ratios are defined to maximize individualized attention, preserve open spaces that encourage movement, and allow for individual work, small group collaboration and large group gathering times.
The first step for prospective families is to submit the Admissions Inquiry form. LOMS staff will then contact you to discuss the enrollment process further and to schedule a classroom observation.
Observations are usually 30 minutes in length and one or both parents may attend. This visit will allow the parents to see the classroom in action, check out the Little Oak campus, meet with our Head of School and experience the atmosphere and relationships that occur in this special environment. Find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the Montessori approach to education.
Once you have determined that Little Oak is a good fit for your family, please complete an application and submit the non-refundable $100 application fee.
For elementary students: A half-day visit is scheduled for each elementary applicant prior to the offer of enrollment. This will give both children and parents a chance to see if Little Oak will be a good fit.
Following enrollment for continuing Little Oak students and their siblings, and children transferring from other Montessori schools, spaces are offered to families in the order in which applications were received, with a priority on balancing ages and genders in the classrooms. Families have 7 businesses days to accept the offer of enrollment and submit the non-refundable tuition deposit.
Once classes are filled, a wait list (in order of receipt of application) will be maintained.
Following receipt of the tuition deposit, LOMS will schedule a student orientation. Elementary orientations take place in the spring while school is in session, or during the two weeks before school starts if needed. Children’s House orientations take place during the summer, in the two weeks before school starts.
Little Oak Montessori School welcomes children regardless of physical, learning or sensory differences, race, ethnicity, nation of origin, religion, and family structure.
